Support & Funding

Find out more about how we give, and what to expect from the RBN Foundation in coming years and decades.

Support & Funding

Tithing has always been important to our family. When we were young and just getting started, we supported our parish and donated to the ministries within our community. We were fortunate enough with each new year to be more generous.

Through the years, our giving has evolved. For many years, we gave emotionally, supporting small, tactical things. Donors often want to see rapid results. We then began to think how can we look upstream at seemingly intransigent problems? What’s at the core of these problems?

We created the RBN Foundation with hopes of exploring these questions. We may not see dramatic results in our lifetime, but with His grace, we hope to respond to God’s call with perseverance and conviction.

“But what’s at the core of these problems? Who is brave enough to solve these problems?”

How We Give

BUCKET 1: STRATEGIC GIVING

The RBN Foundation has finished an extensive, strategic investigation led by Dr. Andrew Abela, Dean of the Busch School at The Catholic University of America. The study began in January 2023 and multiple community and philanthropic leaders in both the secular and religious fields were interviewed with the intent of deriving one or two strategic, priority causes for the RBN Foundation.

We arrived at the conclusion that our focus will be promoting marriage and family, faith, and virtue through K-12 Education. We believe that by focusing on this topic we will be addressing some of the most persistent and resistant challenges of our day and this will yield “upstream” solutions through multi-year or multi-decade efforts. We understand that it takes time and dedication to solve a complex problem.

Bucket 2: Recurring Gifts

The RBN Foundation will continue to support organizations with whom we have a longstanding relationship and serve as board members.

RBN Foundation will periodically assess support of certain organizations that may not align with the K-12 strategic giving focus. Any consideration for support of new organizations will be made on an invitation-only basis.
